This week’s Sunday Stills theme is “macro-anything.” Macro photography is also considered close-up photography. However, using a true macro lens yields the sharpest, tiniest details whereas a closeup may not show each detail. Since I only use my iPhone and I don’t have a macro lens to attach to it, I would call these close-ups!
It’s amazing what terrific photos you can take with a phone these days. I’ve never seen an ant so close-up. The flowers are gorgeous. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
It’s crazy, isn’t it! I love it. I wish this capability had come years before! Thanks! Have a wonderful week! 😻💕
These are fabulous captures with an i-phone! I did so well with my android Galaxy S7 Edge and 5 that I hesitated getting my Lumix FZ300 for a while. I’m glad I did because the zoom on the Lumix gets close-ups of far away images like my hummers! It’s easy to put your phone right up to flower and zoom and get that macro effect. Keep up the great work, your photography and eye for composition is wonderful, Linda!
Thanks so much, Terri! That’s the only thing I miss about just having my iPhone is that there are some close ups that you just can’t get. The birds and deer around here for a couple of things! But I’m having fun so I guess that’s what matters! Thanks for hosting this challenge! 😁😻
Fabulous close-ups,amazing details, dear Linda!Glorious your first floral macro with the iridescent pink colour of its petals!Hugs & kisses to you, sweet friend 🙂 xxx
Thanks, dear Doda! I appreciate your coming by and commenting. Am I right in thinking that you’re traveling? Have fun and be safe! 😀
Pleasure, dear Linda.Short domestic travels at the moment, getting ready for longer ones during August.Thank you for asking sweet friend 🙂 xxx
Love the flowers, the ant looks kind of sad. Okay, not a fan of ants in our home either.
Have a fabulous day, Linda. ♥
Thanks, Sandee! He got a free ride back outside! Not sure how he got in here anyway! HA! He had to be lonely! 😀
It’s still beautiful

So are you! 😆 Hugs!
Gorgeousness!
Thanks, Cindy! Hugs! 😀
Good for you, Linda!! I am terrible at Macros, even when I do remember to set the camera in that mode.
Thanks, GP! I just “zoom” in and get as close as I can with my iPhone. If it looks focused, then I snap! HA! I learned I don’t have the patience to mess with a bunch of different camera settings. Have a great week! 😀
Very nice, Linda. I don’t have an iPhone, but Android . . . and the macros setting (while I really like it) throws me for loops. I almost never get a “good” macro shot. But these are great; keep it up!
Thanks, Leigh. My iPhone doesn’t really have any kind of macro setting. I just “zoom” and/or get as close as I can, get it in focus, and snap! Easy-peasy as some might say! LOL! 😆
Well done!
Thank you very much, dear Ellen! 😀
My hat. I have never shot a macro. Yours are gorgeous. Have a good day!
Thank you so much! You must give it a try! It’s fun! Have a wonderful week! 😀
Such gorgeous shots!❤
Thanks so much, Richa! Have a wonderful day! 😁😻
“I’m ready for my close up Mr De Mille” 🙂 Lovely photos.
Now, that would be an accomplishment since you seem to be so camera-shy! LOL! Thanks so much! 😀
LOL 🙂
Wow! I am amazed that you took these with your phone! They look fabulous! What is that last flower? It’s so pretty!
Thanks so much. That last one is a daffodil 🌼! Glad you enjoyed these! 😁
Gorgeous flowers Linda. I’m not quite as keen on the bug. 🙂
Thanks, Sue! I must admit I had never seen an ant so up close and personal! LOL!
Excellent.
I especially like the last one.
Thanks, rabirius! Me, too! 😀
close ups or macros – either way it means up close beauty – nice color and the ant is just FUN
Thanks, Yvette! It’s always fun to see what I end up with! Never realized ants looked like that! 🐜😁
it looks gigantic – another perk of close-ups…
🙂
True! Had that been its actual size, I would have been out of there! 😹
hahah me too – but for a secoden i was wondering if Georgia had a new breed of ants?
kidding !
and side note – are you missing FLa at times???
Georgia has a new breed of a lot of things! 😆
I think what I miss about Florida is my house. We’re keeping our eyes open for a single level with a basement. I must say I do not miss the constant heat of Florida. Or the traffic. Or the crime…..
ahhh – that makes sense – and best wishes keeping your eyes opened for the next gem
🙂
So, how are the winters in your neck of the woods? 😆
Mild mostly – and can u believe we did not have snow for the first three or four years we moved here –
Finally came and the last 10+ years snowy winters ius fine but nothing like western New York
And in 2008 I recall a teacher at my school composing cos another snow storm missed is – so what does that say
