A Photo a Week Challenge: Fresh

On Nancy Merrill Photography, her challenge this week is:  IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE ONE OR TWO OR MORE PHOTOS FEATURING FRESHNESS.

We knew it was coming. Gosh, I think half the country was already covered. It began slowly here, stopped for a while, and then really came down over night! And, to think, I slept through the whole thing! 😛

I took this one on the way home from running errands yesterday. I thought it was fascinating how there appeared to be just a light dusting across the tops of the hills. I couldn’t figure out the demarcation line that appeared to designate the end of the snow at that altitude!  All you scientific or knowledgeable people can stop laughing at me now; it was not a shadow but actually the end of the snow!

This next picture was taken early this morning from our balcony looking out across our driveway.  Yeh, I can’t see it either! What a greeting. I must admit everything looks so beautiful and fresh! It’s also cold (for here).  I don’t mind this because I know it will be gone by the first of the week as temperatures are predicted to begin climbing and reach the 50s and 60s by the end of the week!

Our first snowfall of 2017!

Our first snowfall of 2017!

Say, wait a minute! I just saw two ROBINS out my office window. Does that mean?….. Could it possibly be?…. Spring is almost here??? (Yes, I have at times been accused of being a dreamer!)

    Gorgeous!

  2. Your first snow covering in your new home, lovely. It’s snowing here now. Robins have acclimated themselves to the colder weather. I think that climate change has much to do with it. Robins use to winter elsewhere (south), but now they are here year round.

Beautiful snow views from where you are! Love the pine tree covering with snow. 🙂

  4. Love fresh snow, and we got our first snowfall today! Like a kid, I donned my boots and went out to make prints!

    • Heehee! I was thinking this morning when I first saw all the snow that I wished I had some boots! I have some short winter boots but I mean the nice, warm, tall ones for play! I don’t know how far I’d get though because we can’t even get down our driveway and I’m too old to go down on my backside! LOL! 😆

  5. Fantastic, Linda! We can use some Spring too now 😉 Pawkisses for a Happy and Healthy New Year. Make it a wonderful year 🙂 ❤

    a beautiful winter wonderland
    how wonderful!
i’d be out there with my xc skis.
hope you have some snow enjoyment.
    and lots of warm 🙂

    • Thanks, David! I lived in cold country here in different parts of the US for most of my life and never did try to ski — downhill or xc! When I was younger, every time I’d start to get up the nerve to go give it (downhill) a try, someone could come into work on Monday with either crutches or a cast on something or other and say they had gone skiing! LOL! I lost my nerve! 😆 Now, being back in a bit of a colder climate after 30 years in Arizona and Florida, I need to get some proper clothes to tackle the winter! 😉

  8. I love the idea of spring coming. It’s currently 34F in Salt Lake City, which is a bit of a heat wave for us the last couple of weeks. We’ll take it for now. Lovely photos! Thanks for joining the challenge!

I’m not laughing just smiling at the ‘shadow’ of the snow. Not too many shadows here just everything blanketed in white as one would expect for Canada. Stay warm!

  10. Amazing that y’all got more snow than we did. We are, perhaps slowly but definitely surely, creeping toward South-like temperatures and progressively less snow year-after-year. Gee thanks, climate change. But anyway, I love seeing snow photos and these are especially good, Linda. Thanks for sharing them! Hope nobody there slipped or anything!

    • Hi, Leigh! Thanks so much! Well, now, our snow is melting fast now. Temps were in the 40s today and expected to be 50s the next couple of days. They’re calling for rain and that’s okay with me as long as temps aren’t freezing! If we were to slip on anything, it would be the stairs inside the house! LOL! We’re not venturing out till tomorrow or Thursday! 😀

What a beautiful view Linda. I am glad you captured these 🙂

  13. I live in the Netherlands and we had so little snow this year 😦 very happy it is spring though! Nice blogpost!
