The first Monday of the month is a NATURE theme at LENS AND PENS BY SALLY.
Since we’ve been having some heavy downpours of rain, I tried snapping some pictures of it. So, here are some spur-of-the-moment photos of our recent downpour as seen out our back patio door! These were taken with my iPhone5 and have been cropped in Fotor.

Very pretty, Linda. I like the diffused light in your photos. 🙂
Thanks, Imelda. 🙂
Awesome photos, Linda!!! Very cool!!! Hope all is well your way! Love, Amy
Thanks, Amy! Things are good, just so busy! I hope all is well with you, dear lady! Hugs! ❤
Busy here as well, Linda. I don’t know how I am posting as much as I am. I might be going down to 3 times a week, off weekends. The nice weather is here and darn it, I do not want to be on a computer!!! (((HUGS))) Amy
😀
Really neat pics!!!
Thanks, Levi! Much appreciated! 🙂
You’re welcome Linda.
it looks like the setting for a spooky movie scence….love it!
Doesn’t it though? It was coming down so heavy and the screens made it look so weird! Good call! 😀
I’m with the spooky movie scene. Who knows what is lurking out there? 🙂
Whatever it was, it was gone by the time the rain stopped! 😀
Good news! The rain did make such artistic photos.
I love it Linda!! soft and wet!!!
Thanks, Cybele! 😀
Opening photo… me likes. 🙂
😀 Thanks!
oh Linda – these photos made me miss Florida! We used to have a similar screened in porch = well different = but they are all similar 😉 – and well, seeing the rain and feeling the humidity – your phone photos are AWESOME!!!!
I can’t imagine why you ever left unless it was work related! I’m afraid if they tried to make me go, I’d go kicking and screaming all the way! Humidity and all! 😆 Thanks, Y!
well it was work related – but we also wanted four seasons – well a mild version of the four seasons if possible – ha! but Florida will always be a piece of me and it sure is a sunshine state – and maybe that is one more reason I like your blog 🙂 – ❤
I definitely miss the four seasons. They each have their own beauty for sure. I don’t see VA being mild! heehee! But I do see it being beautiful. I would head back that way if it just didn’t get so cold! But after growing up in KY, I do get homesick at times. Then the rest of the country has weather like this past winter and I come to my senses! 😆
oh – and do you know what a Virginia girl’s favorite wine is?
“I want to go to Florida!!”
ha!
get it… wine – whine….
I’m a teetotaler but I’m afraid that if I had to leave here, I’d be participating in both! 🙄
GOOD PIECE OF WORK !! 🙂
Thanks, Jordan! 😀
You’ve really captured the look and feel of rain here. Well done.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Much appreciated! 🙂
Dear Linda ! Splendid idea to post very fresh nature related photos ! All of them are so pleasantly presented and the rain has created amazing effects ! Most originative work,my dear friend !!!
Love and hugs as always, Doda 🙂 xxx
Thanks again, my dear friend, for your wonderful comments. I’m so glad you like them! I wasn’t sure whether to even use them at first but they do seem to be well accepted! 🙂
I especially enjoyed the last one. I like the abstraction, which relates to nature’s palette at various times. We’ve had a rainy spring too. But sunny days are back. I’m hoping that your’s will return soon. Happy Photo Challenge.
Thanks, Sally. I’m anxiously awaiting a no storm predicted day so we can get to the beach! 😀

Ha, you were right Linda! we did share the heavy rains;0) Beautiful dramatic photos, I can hear the drumming of that downpour. Gorgeous Rhododendron btw!
Thanks, Johanna! Much appreciated. Btw, I thought rhododendrons had flowers. Are you talking about that big thing in the corner? It doesn’t flower….
yes, rhodos do have flowers…what is it then????
I’m not sure what it is. I should find out, though. Hubby thought it might be a rubber tree but I don’t think it is!
well, the most important thing is, that it is very beautiful and photogenic ;0) Have a great weekend!
There will be lots more nature to photograph after all that rain! 🙂 I think the third one is my favorite.
janet
Thanks, Janet! I’d rather have gone to the beach! 😉 heehee
I love these abstract and beautiful shots!
Many thanks, Fiona! 😀
Stunning captures Linda! I love the rain and it’s a nice welcome when it’s so hot. Here we only have the cold now and I’ll have to wait for summer to bring the rain again. 😆
Love the last shot! Looks like a painting. 😀
Thanks so much, Sonel. It’s so hard for me to picture my friends experiencing winter right now! It is so very hot already here! So, stay warm and be well, dear friend! 😀
Strange how the weather differs hey. The only place that’s having winter like us is Australia… but then, they have been part of South Africa before the big ‘shift’ and they decided to ‘part’. 😆
Thanks, I will hon. You enjoy the heat. I do prefer the cold thank you. 😀

That is awesome, given that its from a phone, it’s cool to see frozen image of the rain.
Thanks, Rommel! It makes taking pictures even more fun! 🙂
