From Nancy Merrill Photography:
IN A NEW POST CREATED FOR THIS CHALLENGE, SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO WITH SUN OR LENS FLARE (REAL OR ADDED).ย Sun and lens flares can be annoying, but they can also be a serendipitous happening. A well-placed or timed flare can add a wonderful hazy, sleepy feeling to an image. It can give a nice backlit affect.
The following are real flares, nothing added! All were taken with my iPhone5.
This picture above is of some Fourth of July fireworks. If there is one thing I’ve learned from trying to photograph fireworks with my iPhone and its zoom, is that it can’t be done. If anyone out there has discovered the secret, please share!
The picture above is an early morning shot of the sun with some jet traffic in the sky.
Above is a sunset between some trees at Lake Apopka.
Great images. I especially love the colors of the sunset in the last picture. Thanks for joining the challenge!
Thanks, Nancy! ๐
Stunning! I have never seen these~
Thanks, Cindy! ๐
Wonderful captures, especially the last one – just STUNNING!!! ๐
Thanks, Joanne! It did come out better than anticipated! ๐
Hi sis beautiful pictures you have a good talent there
Thanks, Brenda! ๐
Linda, nicely captured.
I love taking photos into the sun and seeing the effect. These are lovely Linda. ๐
Me, too, Sue. You never know what you’re going to get! ๐
Cellphone cameras are very reliable. For the past two months of my blogposts, all of my images are cellphone pics. But, cell cams are not reliable with night photography, and definitely not with fireworks.
Love the last pic, Linda.
Thanks, Rommel! Then it’s a good thing I don’t do a lot of night photography! HA! ๐
yes, I love the flare!! I don’t use my cell phone much for photos- but must try!! Lovely Linda!!
I say give that cell phone a chance. Sometimes it can surprise you! ๐
I have not been able to photo fireworks even with my camera – lol – and I like the lake apopka photo the most – but all three flares are coolโฆ.
and did you say jet traffic? well not to alarm you – but those are called chem – trails and they are changing the weatherโฆ ha!
Well, I think these skinny little trails might have been jets. But, boy howdy, do we get chem trails. But, then, who doesn’t? Don’t you just love what they’re doing to our weather/health/lives…. ๐
well to be honest – I have not seen too many here in Virginia – but I have seen people post online from their yards and it is crazy – and also on this note – I am not even sure if the check trails are all that bad – and it was something I spent a little bit of time reading about last summer – and well, not sure I agree with some of those that are “conspiracy” minded with itโฆ I dunnoโฆ. but cool shot amiga
This has made me smile. I have never seen “flare” as the photography theme :D. Gorgeous examples, Linda!
Thanks, Paula! I knew I had a few examples because for some strange reason I love to point my iPhone at the sun and shoot! ๐
Great images.With love maxima
Thank you so much, Maxima! ๐
