Michelle’s Weekly Pet Challenge – Wk #70

A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.

Ye olde neighborhood cat house!

It’s true. I run a cat house. Pictured are two that I just happened to catch as I drove in the driveway (ergo, the grainy quality on an iPhone5 zoom!). I have seven indoor cats that I call my own and cannot add to that number now that hubby has been diagnosed as allergic. There are at least seven (five black and two tuxedo) cats/kittens outside who come for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and bedtime. They are not mine per se. I can’t say they are feral as they have come to allow me to pet them and, a few of them, allow me to pick them up. Yes, I know, I’ve been told I need help. But, you see, they need help more than I do!

Love the quote at the beginning Linda. I say as long as you are happy and Hubby can manage his allergies then no need for help. 🙂

Your are my kinda of person. Anyone that love critters and looks after their welfare is a quality human being in my book. People say I’m crazy because I carry cat food with me in my car in the event I run into hungry, homeless creatures along the way.

Well, I am glad you clarified what type of cat house!!! 😉

  4. You are just like my Granny. She feeds everything that is around, even if they have a home. I don’t mind, as long as she feeds me 😀 Pawkisses 🙂 ❤

and oh I almost forgot – I thought of you while watching Breaking Bad over the holiday! well, there is this scene where Jesse talks about the possum of the “o”possum – well it is not very detailed or long (and you likely would not want to watch this series – but you might) anyhow, I recorded it to show ya – and I will try and get it up not he weekend. just fun when blogger pals come to mind in the real world.

  10. Funny quote, lovely hoto and you are an angel. Well, thank goodness for the climate in Florida…no cold cats there;0)

Love it! And yes if only more people could get over the black cat stigma. 🙂

I love cats but we can’t have cats in the house due to allergies. But we manage a dog zoo! Most of which are rescues!
Good for you for giving love to so many creatures.

  13. I love it Linda!! The quote is great and are you the madam? lol

  14. Wow Linda, I Love you already , what a caring heart you and your husband have.

Yes others say I have lost it too, like you I agree, a stray needs Love but I also include people, what a way to go, as we both know the Joy outweighs the problems.

Oh, no need to spit then? 😀 I know some good allergy meds 😉 A cool capture of your needy ones 😀

  16. Mumsy's Little Chancy Man says:

Thank you for being so kind and caring. We at one time had 13 cats and we never thought that was too many. Nice picture of those two sweeties! Hugs and nose kisses

  17. Great picture; the cat on the wall looks like an elegant statue. Good for you for helping the outdoor kitties, Linda! If they really do prove to be homeless cats and if you wanted, you could check with a local humane society and/or a national group like Alley Cat Allies and see about how best to care for outdoor cats (i.e., managing a colony, seeing if there are any free community T-N-R programs, and so on). In any case, best wishes on your kind works to help the cats.

    • I haven’t gone to the local Humane Society because they’re not fully no kill and all of the rescue cat organizations around here don’t even answer their phones. Their recording just says basically, “sorry, full up.” So, for now at least, they do have access to food and shelter. Thanks for coming by, Leigh! 😀

      • No worries, Linda. I’m glad you do what you do for the outdoor felines (not to mention your beloved companion animals inside, despite hubby’s allergies, which I hope are improving on good meds!).

LOL, I can soooo relate both inside and out! 😀

Nice sarcastic quote. 😀 Boy, you do have a big cat-love heart. 🙂
