Once a week Sue dips into her old English Oxford dictionary and picks a word on the page that it falls open at. The challenge is to post a photograph, poem, story – whatever the genre you like best to describe of what that word means to you. This week the challenge is RED.
Fabulous collection of red Linda. That rooster has a pretty serious look on it’s face I must say. 🙂
Okay, he was a bit distracted by all the hens running around him! 😀
Haha well fair enough. 🙂
Wonderful various selections for red! Enjoy the weekend, Linda 🙂
Thanks much, Amy! 😀

Great choices for the challenge, Linda. Love the old fashioned portrait. 🙂
Thanks, Sylvia. That portrait hangs in my living room. It’s one of the things I got from my Mom and she got it around 1950 or so. I used to think it was by Gainesborough or one of his students. I recently learned it’s a reproduction of A.W. Devis’ portrait of “Master Simpson” also known as “Friends” or “Good Companions”.
Good choices and that is one impressive rooster, he means business! That painting of the sweet child and doggie reminds me of your photos when you were a wee lassie…I guess it is the curls?
He takes his work quite seriously! 😀 You’re right, I never thought of that about me and my little doggie! Probably more like my brother, though, when he was a toddler! Rumor has it my mom had a hard time having his curls cut off but don’t tell him I said that! He’s a lot older than me (11 yrs) and I think they let the boys hair get a bit longer back then! heehee! 😆
I love the red rooster!! And all of them!
Thanks so much, Cybele! He was too intent on business to let me bother him! 😀
PS: the last is very impressionist!!! Wonderful!
Thanks again! I hesitated to use it because the zoom on an iPhone isn’t an actual zoom lens and it tends to make things grainy. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t! Glad you liked it! 😀
Marvelous set of photos dear Linda.
Thanks for sharing!.
Best wishes and happy week ahead to you,
Aquileana D
Thanks so much, Aquileana! I hope you have a glorious week! Hugs! 😀
