Michelle’s Weekly Pet Challenge – Wk #37

This week I’m spotlighting our little Emmy. She is a Maltese and will turn 14 this year. Back in 2000, we were blessed to have the opportunity to adopt Emmy from Florida Poodle Rescue. We brought her home as a baby. I know! Most animals adopted from rescues are fully grown. Sometimes timing is everything! It was meant to be. Of all our little furry children, she is the oldest and pretty much the smallest (if you don’t count a couple of the cats!).  But she is the matriarch of our animal kingdom. Aw, shucks, she rules this roost!

THAT WAS THEN!

  2. cindy knoke says:

Oh my gosh, she is adorable!

  3. Sonel says:

Awwwwww, she is just the most adorable and cutest little angel Linda! I am so glad she found you and that she is so loved and spoiled. Such great shots you took of her hon. I would just hug her up! LOL! Love the haircut! Please give her lots of hugs and kisses from me and Simba. He will be 16 this year in December. 😀 ♥ Big Hugs ♥

    • Thanks, Sonel! Boy, wouldn’t she and Simba be a pair?! Two very spoiled little cuddle bugs! Wow, 16 is wonderful! That’s really getting up there for these little ones. Many hugs! ❤

      • Sonel says:

You’re welcome hon and absolutely! LOL! I can see them walking around outside with the monkeys trying to play with them. LOL! The little ones always tries to grab Simba’s tail and he would then just look at them as to say “What you trying to do huh?” and they would then give 3 steps back. Then he would continue his stroll and pretend he doesn’t see them. LOL! I think he still misses Spike – the little Vervet I raised.

Just as wonderful as 14 is and I agree. They sure age better than I do. hahahaha

        ♥ Big Hugs ♥

        • Well, Simba is definitely more laid back than Emmy! One of those little monkeys tries to grab her tail, she’d become a little Tazmanian Devil and they wouldn’t know which direction she was coming from! I know what you mean about the aging. Some days I think I’ve been here too long and other days not nearly long enough! 😆 Many hugs to you, dear lady! ❤

        • Sonel says:

LOL! Only because he grew up with them.

hahahahah! I bet they would enjoy that. I thin Simba bores them. LOL!

Oh, I totally agree with you there. Some days I really wonder what the hell I am still doing here. hahahah

Thanks for the hugs and lots right back at you hon!
          ♥ Big Hugs ♥

She is terrifically cute Linda! She must bring a lot of joy and life to your home.

  7. Joanne says:

Oh how sweet – I just want to hug her but how fortunate to be in the right place at the right time to be able to have her from a baby – somethings are simply meant to be! 🙂

    • Thanks, Joanne. It’s true, isn’t it? We were getting ready to go pick up an older Poodle (which would have been just fine but the lady backed out). The rescue people felt so bad that we weren’t able to get our Poodle that when a Maltese puppy was dropped off around the same time, they offered her and we accepted!

      • Joanne says:

If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. Life is funny how things “happen” isn’t it? – as I sit here on the bed nursing a throbbing head, our two “rescue” cats from Australia lie with me keeping me company – love it! 🙂

      • Joanne says:

If its meant to be, its meant to be. Life has a funny way of working itself out hasn’t it? As I sit here on the bed nursing my throbbing head with our two “rescue” cats from Australia sleeping beside me. Love it! 😉

  17. I think I just fell in love with a little dog… 😀 Pawkisses 🙂

    • Well, Binky, you might as well come on over and join the crowd! She lives with one other dog and seven cats. Might as well make it an even eight! HA! Actually, a neighborhood mama cat just showed up with four little black kittens that are desperate for their own forever home. There’s no way I can bring anymore in! 🙄
